trainscendence - for soprano saxophone, piano & tape
trainscendence was inspired by the sounds of the London Tube. It uses a field recording of the tube, which has then been “threshed” by a MaxMSP patch to create 2 separate tracks, one for Piano, and one for Soprano Saxophone. Only the loudest sets of frequencies are allowed through the “thresher” which each instrument then imitates. The piece has been spatialised for 7.1 Surround Sound.
